From time to time some of our new players arriving from regional and overseas seek assistance for various reasons to help with relocation and living costs while playing their hockey at Waverley.
We regularly receive enquiries from overseas and country or interstate players to come play at our club. These young men and women generally weigh up the reputation of the club in how it is coached and able to offer guidance/assistance to make their stay both rewarding and enjoyable when considering where to play. Senior Registration and Fee Structure – 2017
We are gearing up for another exciting hockey season at Waverley in 2017! Over the summer we have had a number of successful teams in indoor competitions and pre-season training is well underway. We have also had a lot of Waverley members enjoying summer hockey at a variety of venues including our Wednesday night intra-club competition. Read More
The club would like to congratulate Stacia Joseph on being named the interim Head Coach of the VIS Women’s Hockey Program. Stacia has played and coached at a high level for a long time and adds this position to an already packed resume. More extensive details can be found on the VIS here. Read More
The Senior Registration information released on the website in February there included a Social Membership option. For non-playing family, friends, spectators, Club Administrators or other supporters of Waverley the social membership is a great way to support the Club. Read More
Waverley Hockey Club Working Bee this Saturday 19th March from 9:00am to 4:00pm. There are a number of things to achieve on the day to get the ground and clubrooms up to scratch for the start of the season. If you are available please consider coming down for a few hours to help out where you can.
Attendance will also provide up to 20 volunteer points under the new volunteer policy!
There have been some changes to the Executive Committee at Waverley. The following people have needed to resign their positions:
- Mike Brooks, held the position of Junior President
- Roger Head, held the position of Vice President
- Don Larter, held one of the General Committee positions
As announced as part of the fee restructure for 2016, a $50 volunteer levy has been introduced. The volunteer levy will work by way of a points system.
If you achieve 50 points over the season you will get a refund of the levy to the value of $50. Each piece of volunteer work will be worth a certain number of points. Read More
Rebecca Thompson stepped down as Women President at the Annual General Meeting in November last year. At that time we had no nominees to replace Rebecca and have been carrying a vacancy since that date.
