Vale Neil Brooks

Neil Brooks, Waverley Hockey Club Life Member, dedicated club person and father to Travis (Life Member and current Director of Coaching) and Jason (current Premier League Assistant Coach), has passed away. 

Neil has been a part of Waverley Hockey Club for over 30 years as a parent, Committee person, player, coach and administrator.  Neil’s willingness to help out in so many different roles and the effort and dedication shown in all of them was a key element to his nomination for Life Membership.

We pass our condolences to Travis and Jason along with Neil’s wife Toni, their daughters Melinda and Emma, and the wider Brooks family.

The funeral details are:

Monday 16th November at 10:30am
John Allison Monkhouse
Cnr Springvale Road and Princes Highway, Springvale
Refreshments to follow at ‘The Vale’ Hotel

    A patient, humourous and generous man. Neil always had time for everyone and was quick witted. He will be missed by the Waverley family. RIP knowing the legacy you have left behind for us all.

      I don’t play hockey. Neil was my uncle. He was a top bloke. Had a sense of humour exactly like mine. As a kid I loved Kim Hughes, played cricket and loved and still love Geelong FC. Neil told me Kim Hughes was no good and that I would never make a century and that Geelong would never win a flag! Uncle Neil, you were wrong on all 3 counts! Lol. I will miss you. Derek Reynolds xo
