Along with the rewarding experiences playing hockey brings from a personal perspective, providing the opportunity to make a difference in the life of others is something was an opportunity that the Waverley Men’s unit jumped at!
Jude Felix Hockey Academy (JFHA) has a vision of nurturing life through Hockey and other sports and their vision saw them partner with St. Mary’s Orphanage, Cook Town, Bangalore provides a “Home away from Home” since 1878 for the abandoned children of society irrespective of caste and creed.
Navin Jordan from the club has an active involvement with the organisation approached the Men’s unit to get involved and help out with these kids and offer them the opportunity to play hockey and be exposed to life changing opportunities. The playing group responded via different initiatives and we’re please to share the results from the contribution from Waverley Hockey Club.
As part of the generosity of this group Waverley managed to provide catering twice a week for 15 weeks for 100 players.
Many thanks to our members who got involved and help support the vision for JFHA and we look forward to season 2018 as we continue our relationship with the Jude Felix Hockey Academy and making a difference in the life of others.
