New Players

The Waverley Hockey Club has a diverse and rich culture that is open to new players of all ages and skill levels. We encourage new senior and junior players to join us, whether you are from overseas, interstate, changing  club or simply new to hockey. Waverley Hockey Club is known for its passion for hockey and enjoyment its members have at all levels from beginner to elite.  The level of coaching available to all players is second to none in Victoria. The club has brilliant facilities, including a new blue hybrid pitch – the only one of its kind on the east coast of Australia, ground lighting, refurbished clubrooms, change rooms, ice baths, new indoor & outdoor PA system, on-site parking, and bar/canteen.

Waverley Hockey Club is situated in Ashwood,  20 minutes south-east from Melbourne CBD. It is located just off the Monash Freeway and is a 5 minute walk from Holmsglen train station.

New to Hockey?

Waverley Hockey Club recommends that children under the age of 10 who have not played hockey before participate first participate in the Hookin2Hockey program. The program will develop the base skills to transition to either the clubs further U10 programs or U12 and above competition.

Seniors

The Men’s and Women’s units can cater to all skill levels and age groups. Each year Waverley has a range of teams from social through to elite levels, open and masters age groups. Our top level teams, Waverley Men’s and Women’s Premier League teams, play at the highest level in Hockey Victoria competitions.
