2022 Panther Pride Lunch

The 2022 Panther Pride luncheon was held in conjunction with the Bert Batch Cup on Saturday 7 May. The luncheon was well attended by prior players and supporters alike, including the  current and past 4 Club Presidents, sponsors, premiership winning players and supporters, including family members who had volunteered in many roles across the years. Bronwyn Maddock (Chair WHC Historical Committee) and Tim Thompson (WHC Director Revenue & Sponsorship) spoke to the attendees about the Club’s current activities and encouraged everyone to assist the Club in tracking down other prior players and supporters.

What is the Panther Pride?

Over Waverley Hockey Club’s 60+ years a significant number of players, coaches, administrators, supporters, umpires and officials have contributed to the club in numerous ways. The Panther Pride was established in 2021 by the WHC Historical Committee to bring together past members and supporters through events and newsletter updates.

Newsletter

The Panther Pride is open to all prior members and supporters. Several newsletters are sent out each season to keep the Panther Pride informed of the Club’s on and off field news.

Annual Luncheon

The Waverley Hockey Club, has historically held an annual luncheon for the WHC Life Members, often combined with the Bert Batch Cup round. Over the latter years, it has been recognised in addition to the WHC Life members, a significant number of players, coaches, administrators, supporters, umpires and officials have contributed to the club in numerous ways. Therefore, to inclusively celebrate all members past contributions, all members are invited to the Panther Pride luncheon to acknowledge their contributions to the fabric of the Waverley Hockey Club.

The Panther Pride Luncheon is an opportunity to reconnect with other past members, of the Waverley Hockey Club, reminisce of past days at the club and reflect on the role the hockey club played in their development. Laughs and stories of past playing days are the focus of this event and all are welcome to attend.
